One of the largest and best-preserved Roman sites in the eastern Mediterranean, Al-Bass is a UNESCO-listed archaeological park on the outskirts of Tyre. It features a monumental triumphal arch, a sprawling Roman necropolis lined with marble sarcophagi, ancient baths, and the remnants of a massive hippodrome that once hosted chariot races for up to 20,000 spectators.
